Mrs. Treva Wood

Mrs. Treva Ann Gillespie Wood, age 77, of Dobson, NC, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born February 26, 1939, in Surry County to the late Richard and Vertie Wood Gillespie. Mrs. Wood formerly worked as a CNA, and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She is survived by her step-sons; Sandy Wood of East Bend and Ashley Wood of Dobson; four step-grandchildren; her brother, GW Gillespie of Dobson; sister-in-law, Barbara Gillespie of Flint, Michigan; 3 nieces, and 3 nephews; and a loving caregiver, Michele Lowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Watson and James Ray Wood; one step-grandchild; her brother, Richard Gilbert Gillespie and her infant brother, Henry Gillespie. Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2016 from 12-2 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Reverend Spencer Edmonds and Reverend Chris Park officiating. The burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be a meal following at 5:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in celebration of the life of Mrs. Wood.
