Mrs. Vera Marie Johnson Moseley

Mrs. Vera Marie Johnson Moseley, 86 of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Moseley was born in Surry County on September 24, 1925 to the late John Frank and Olevia Hemmings Johnson. She retired from Spencer's and was a faithful member of Union Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Moseley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Hilda and Roger Stone of Mt. Airy; two grandsons, Gregg and Tyler Stone both of Mt. Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Foye and Birchard Younger, Georgie and Aubrey Moseley, Dorothy Riggs, Geraldine and Rayburn Sykes all of Mt. Airy and Kathleen and Alex Hege of Lexington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wade and Mary Lou Johnson, Billy Gray and Rita Johnson, Jimmy and Nelda Johnson, all of Mt. Airy, Paul and JoAnn Johnson of Wilkesboro, Bessie Johnson and Andrea Johnson both of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moseley was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Wilson Moseley; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Greer Johnson, Otis and Shirley Johnson, Bernie Johnson, and a brother-in-law, Bobby Riggs. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Union Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Steve Moseley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy will be assisting the Moseley Family.
