Mrs. Vergie Midkiff Hiatt

Mrs. Vergie Midkiff Hiatt, age 88, of Mount Airy, widow of Arnold Hiatt, passed away at the Northern Hospital of Surry County on Tuesday July 30, 2013. Mrs. Hiatt was born in Surry County January 27, 1925 the daughter of the late Clyde and Maxie Hicks Midkiff. Mrs. Hiatt was retired from Spencer's Inc. and a member of the Flat Rock Baptist Church. Surviving are her sister, Rachel Kirkman of Mount Airy, and a nephew, Tony Kirkman of Winston Salem. Funeral services will be held Friday August 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Flat Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating. Mrs. Hiatt's family will receive friends on Friday at the church from 10:00 until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church 1335 East Pine St. Mount Airy, NC 27030.
