Mrs. Virginia Martin Collins

Mrs. Virginia Martin Collins, age 88 of Lawsonville, North Carolina, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at Stokes-Reynolds Hospital in Danbury, North Carolina. She was born in Stokes County on August 6, 1922 to the late Frank and Mary Lou Corns Martin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Vance W. Collins; four sisters, Lucy Martin, Elsie Hooker, Louise Joyce and Annie Deatherage; and six brothers, Odell, James, Euell, Melvin, Dennis and Ralph Martin.
Mrs. Collins is survived by three sisters, Hallie Shaffer of Mayodan, North Carolina, Evergene James of Madison, North Carolina and Pauline Tatum of Stuart; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Terry Ragsdale officiating. Burial will follow in the Peters Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
