Mrs. Virginia Evelyn Belton Hazlewood

Mrs. Virginia Evelyn Belton Hazlewood, age 84 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on February 3, 1931 to the late Walter and Mary Lucinda Rakes Belton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hazlewood was preceded in death by her husband, James Hazlewood; an infant son, Robin Kevin Hazlewood; one brother, Jack Belton; and two sisters, Edith June Cox and Mary Jane Harris. She was a graduate of Stuart High School Class of 1949, had worked for J.P. Stevens for 30 years in the purchasing department, and had been a member of Big A Church of Christ for 60 years.

Mrs. Hazlewood is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard W. and Sherri Hazlewood of Stuart; two grandchildren, Brandon Hazlewood and wife, Sara, of Stuart, Dustin Hazlewood and wife, Tiffany, of Galax; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorene B. Hazlewood of Stuart and Patricia B. Tolson of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Big A Church of Christ with Pastor Allen Caudle officiating. Burial will follow in the Big A Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
