Mrs. Virginia Dare Coffer Mabe

Mrs. Virginia Dare Coffer Mabe, age 88, of Stuart, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at her home. She was born in Stokes Co., NC on June 9, 1928 to the late Roy Lee Coffer and Della Lawson Coffer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joffery William Mabe; a son, William Byron Mabe; a granddaughter, Michelle Mabe; a sister, Myra Coffer Collins; and a brother, Charles D. Coffer. Mrs. Mabe loved her family, gardening, farming, and to cook. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Sharon Mabe of Woodlawn, Douglas and Shirley Mabe of Stuart, Bobby and Kathy Mabe of Stuart; four daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Clyde Crissman of Stuart, Phyllis Ann Mabe of Stuart, Wanda and Jerry Parrish of Stuart, Teresa L. Mabe of Stuart; 16 grandchildren, Cyndi Crissman Williams and husband, Robbie, Joey Dale Mabe and wife, Daphne, Angie Mabe Keene and husband, John, Jennifer Mabe Mills and husband, Joe, Michael Byron Mabe and wife, Katherine, Rebecca Mabe Williams and husband, Tom, Tammy Mabe, Kevin Douglas Mabe and wife, Tracie, Kimberly Mabe Bradley and husband, Cass, Phebe G. Mangum, Jeremiah Nathaniel Mabe and wife, Janice, Samantha Hill and husband, Daniel, Whitney Turner and husband, Josh, Christopher Daniel Gammons and wife, Pam, Steven Matthew Mabe and wife, Stacey, April Mabe Hedrick and husband, Sonny; 22 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and her beloved companion, Little Buddy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Revs. David Smith and Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mabe Family Cemetery.
