Mrs. Virginia Lee Reynolds Martin

Mrs. Virginia Lee Reynolds Martin, 92, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Lee County, NC on July 2, 1923 to the late Andrew Harrison and Candice Reynolds. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for all her family and was well known throughout the family that they were always welcome to come and join her for a meal. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law. Margaret Parks of Mt. Airy, sons and daughters-in-law, L.M. “Billy” and Darlene Wilson of Cana, VA, Charles Vaughn of Woolwine, VA, Roger and Robin Vaughn of Martinsville, VA Mitchell and Donna Wilson of Mt. Airy; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Moore of Stoney Point, NC; sisters-in-law, Maggie Reynolds, Ruth Phillips and Barbara Inman all of Mt. Airy, and a brother-in-law, Frank Martin of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Pate Martin; a son, Steve Wilson; sisters, Elsie Reece, Bessie Reynolds, Mary Williams and Nora Eaton and one brother, Curtis Reynolds. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Ted Turman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, January 15, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Wolz Hospice Home, 945, Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27107.
