Mrs. Virginia Mae Penn Thomas

Mrs. Virginia Mae Penn Thomas, 72, of Stuart passed away Thursday July 22, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Patrick County on August 18, 1937 to the late William Penn and Alberta Penn King. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Thomas; an infant son; a daughter, Becky Joy Thomas; and a grandson, David Carter.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by four daughters, Mae Paris Thomas of Winston Salem, NC, ReFonda Dalton and husband Leonard of Stuart, Marlene Thomas of Stuart, and Delzene Wimbush and husband Chuck of Martinsville; a son, Howard Lee Thomas, Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Rebecca France of Winston Salem, NC and Lillian King of Stuart; and two brothers, William T. and Robert E. Penn both of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Frank Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in the Tatum Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. A wake will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
