Mrs. Vivian Craig Ratliff

Mrs. Vivian Craig Ratliff, age 86 of Patrick Springs passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on February 27, 1925 to the late Flem and Queenie Hancock Craig. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ratliff was preceded in death by her husband, James Alvis Ratliff; one brother, D.C. Craig; one sister; Lera Washburn; and a son-in-law, Ralph Stowe. She was a longtime member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was very devoted to her family and was often heard saying "Be careful now".
Mrs. Ratliff is survived by a daughter, Shirley Stowe of Patrick Springs; three sons and daughters-in-law, Chester G. Ratliff, Curtis D. Ratliff and wife Patsy, and Maynard L. Ratliff and wife, Barbara, all of Patrick Springs; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Craig and Clarence Craig, both of Patrick Springs; and two sisters, Viola Voorhees of Patrick Springs and Hazel Wright of Bassett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ratliff will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Patrick Springs with Pastor Rick Anderson and Pastor Wayne Hannah officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
