Mrs. Warnetta Flippin Watson

Mrs. Warnetta Flippin Watson, 91, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Watson was born January 29, 1924, in Surry County, one of ten children born to Walter Lee and Myrtle Lawson Flippin. She retired from Spencers Inc. and was a devoted member of Bannertown Baptist Church. Those who will always cherish her memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Perry Bryant, Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Patsy Watson, Stanley and Audrey Watson, and Lynn and Mary Ann Watson; her grandchildren, Kevin Watson and wife Nichole, Amber Reid and husband Ricky, Shawn Watson, Cory Watson, Ashly Lancaster and husband Justin; Daryl Bryant and wife Christi, and Buffy Inscore and husband Craig; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Allie Golding of Lowgap; many special nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Wanda Dillard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by eight sisters and brothers. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Mickey Cogdill and the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Watsons family requests that memorials be made to Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Doris Scott, 128 Tree Trail, Lowgap, NC 27024. The family would like to express their gratitude to Central Continuing Care for the love, care and compassion given to Mrs. Watson.
