Mrs. Willa Kay Rogers Hubbard, age 73 of Stuart, passed away Dec. 9, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born on Sept. 13, 1943 in Patrick County to the late Blaine Rogers and Rachel Creasey Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Maynard Alvery Hubbard who passed away on Dec. 1, 2016; and two brothers-in-law, J.W. “Chappy” Rorrer and Walter Harris. Willa Kay attended Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who never met a stranger.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert James “R.J” and Penny Hubbard of Stuart, Richard and Lorine Hubbard of Stuart; three grandchildren, James Hubbard and wife, Tina, Jami Fain and fiancé, Gary Ayers, Cody Smith; three great grandchildren, Martina Hubbard, Emmalyn Hubbard, Mason Ayers; two sisters, Allie Mae Rorrer of Martinsville, Nancy Harris of Collinsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Frances Rogers of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Brandy Freeman of Woolwine.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Komoda officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Relay for Life-Patrick County Chapter, P.O. Box 3907, Martinsville, VA 24115-3907. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.
