Mrs. Wilma Riddle Ball

Mrs. Wilma Riddle Ball, age 93, of Elkin, widow of Mr. Herman Ball, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Chatham Nursing and Rehab Center in Elkin. Mrs. Ball was born in Surry County, April 12, 1924 the daughter of the late Frank F. and Nannie Flippin Riddle. Mrs. Ball was retired from the local hosiery mills and a longtime member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Mrs. Ball loved her family, her church family, and her friends and community. Surviving are one son and daughter-in law, Bob Ball and wife Nancy M Ball of Elkin; grandchildren, Robert Ball and wife, Eris, of Elkin, Michael Ball and wife, Lili of Raleigh, and Elizabeth Madden and husband, Chris of Winston-Salem; 6 great grandchildren, Cama Ball, Sydney and Finley Ball, Ben, Charlotte, and Anna Merritt Madden; her sister, Edith Riddle; of Winston Salem and a very dear friend, Dot Griffin of Mount Airy. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. The Ball family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, 319 Rockford St., Mount Airy, NC 27030, or the charity of the donor’s choice. "The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Ridgecrest of Mt. Airy and Chatham Nursing and Rehab of Elkin for the love and care given to Wilma over the last nine years."
