Mrs. Wilma Ruth Johnson Taylor, age 79, of White Plains, widow of James Richard Taylor, passed away Friday morning, March 30, 2018, at her home. She was born in Surry County on September 19, 1938, to the late Elbert Troy Johnson and Surrilda Ferguson Johnson. She was of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish her memory is a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Charles Linville of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Dean Johnson Hodges; and five brothers, Troy Truman Johnson, James Elvis Johnson, Sr., Arvil “Bud” Lee Johnson, Burley Johnson, and Wayburn Johnson. Graveside services will be held Monday, April 2, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Laurel Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Junior Ferguson officiating.
