Mrs. Winnie Beulah Hylton, age 93 of Woolwine passed away Saturday at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born on April 30, 1917 in Patrick County to the late George William Hylton and Della Dovie Craig Hylton. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Garland William Hylton; a son, Randolph Hylton; a granddaughter, Angie Walker; two sisters, Tiny Thomas and Priscilla Midkiff; one brother, Henry Hylton; a half sister, Callie Adams; and a half brother, Abe Hylton. Mrs. Hylton was a longtime member of Woolwine United Methodist Church and loved quilting.
Surviving are two daughters and sons in law, Dovie Ann and David Walker of Stuart; Betty and Robert Law of Rocky Mt.; one son and daughter in law, Larry and Donna Hylton of Rocky Mt.; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Payne of Madison, NC and Audna Harbour of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hylton will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Woolwine United Methodist Church with Pastor Sandy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Woolwine Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Memorials may be made to the Smith River Rescue Squad, P O Box 122, Woolwine, VA 24185.
