Mrs. Zelma Norman Schofield

Mrs. Zelma Norman Schofield, age 91, of Dobson passed away on Wednesday December 21, 2016 in Elkin, NC. She was born in Yadkin Co. on March 1, 1925 to the late Rufus and Bessie Vestal Norman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Sewell Schofield, Jr.; sisters Nell McGee, Blanche White, Ina Lee Williamson; brothers Hickman Norman, Raymond Norman, Allen Norman, and Curtis Norman. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She retired in 1984 from the Pentagon after 30 years of service. She was a member of Dobson Church of God. She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. She also loved all of her cats. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 31, 2016 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Forbush Friends Meeting Cemetery. Hospice Pastor, Ken Boaz, will conduct her service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 10: AM until 11:00 AM. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Wake Forest Baptist Health Care at Home Hospice, 126 Executive Dr. Suite 110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
