Ms. Argie Violet Donathan Hodges Sams

Ms. Argie Violet Donathan Hodges Sams, age 85 of Mt. Airy, was called on by our Lord to join Him in her eternal home. Argie was the sixth born of a family of nine, five sisters and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Franklin Donathan and Susan Lillian Coins Donathan; by two brothers, William H. and Clayborn J. Donathan; her first husband, Leonard Hodges; and her second husband, Sid Sams. Argie was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Chandler of Mt. Airy; three daughters, Belinda Sawyers and husband Benton, Sandra Keener and Cynthia Moats and husband Eric; one brother and sister-in-law, Monroe (M.T.) and Peggy Donathan of Mt. Airy; one sister, Lillie Cook of Pilot Mountain; and several nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mt. Airy is assisting the Sams family.
