Ms. Betty Jean Key Haynes

Ms. Betty Jean Key Haynes, age 53 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Union County Hospice Home. Ms. Haynes was born in Surry County, July 17, 1958 to the late Jesse Ray Key and Sarah Lou Hiatt Dawson. She was employed with Kentucky Derby Hosiery. Surviving is a daughter, Brittany Haynes of Mt. Airy; sisters, Tammy Fields of Winston-Salem, Janet Dawson of Lowgap; brothers, Michael Key of Pilot Mountain, Bobby Dawson and wife Cindy of Ohio; several nieces and nephews and several special friends and caregivers from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Elder David Culler and Elder Lionel Hiatt. Burial will follow in the James Monroe Hiatt Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
