Ms. Brenda Faye Edwards

Ms. Brenda Faye Dowell Edwards, age 66, of Lowgap, NC passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013. She was born in Surry County on July 29, 1947 to Dee Shinault and the late Hallie Deathridge Shinault. She was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Oakdale Hosiery in Mt. Airy. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by one brother Larry Buster Dowell. Surviving are one daughter Debbie Flippen of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law Michael and Missy Flippen of Lowgap, Daniel and Emeldia Edwards of Mt. Airy, Jessie Hayes of Washington DC; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law Glenda and Jimmy Slate of Mt. Airy, Donna Payne of Mt. Airy, a half sister Brenda Lee Morris of Mt. Airy; one brother and sister-in-law Ricky and Angie Shinault of Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday August 11, 2013, at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Lambsburg, Virginia with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Jerry King and Rev. Timmy Crotts will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Holly Grove Baptist Church, on Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of her service at 4:00 P.M.
