Ms. Cathey Delores Barker

Ms. Cathey Delores Barker, age 63, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away on Saturday January 27, 2018 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on July 5, 1954 to Mary Ethel Sammons Barker and the late Major Vance Barker. She was a retired seamstress, and a member of Little Richmond Baptist Church. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother, David Vance Barker. Surviving are her four sons, Christopher and Crystal Harris, Franklin Harris, Michael and Tara Harris, Martin and Victoria Harris; a granddaughter who lived with her Leah Harris; and twenty three other special grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and David Higgins; one niece and two nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday at Little Richmond Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. J.V. Lowe will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 PM until the time of her service at 1:00 PM. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, NC is serving the Barker family.
