Ms. Darlene Burnett

Ms. Helen “Darlene” Simons Burnett, age 76 of Mount Airy, NC passed away Sunday May 6, 2018 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson after several years of declining health.  She was born in Smyth County, Virginia on June 26, 1941 to the late Ralph and Irene Wood Simons.  She was a retired seamstress from Washington Mills, and a retired CNA.  She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Regina Burnett of Winston Salem, Lynn and Ronald Beasley of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren, Jeremy Payne, Stephanie and Brad Haymore, Austin Beasley; three great-grandchildren Ryley Payne, Hudson Haymore, Addilyn Haymore; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Jerry Sechrist, Norma Haynes, Mary Sue and Johnny Johnson, Bertha Sheppard; one brother James Simons: very special friend J.C. Weddle;  in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Madelene Anders, Patsy Forrest. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday May 9, 2018 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with  J.C. Haymore officiating.  The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday one hour prior to her service, and at other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Ronald Beasley.
