Ms. Denise Chilton Cundiff

Ms. Denise Chilton Cundiff, 56, of Concord, NC, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born November 21, 1959 in Surry County to Robert Herman Chilton, Jr. and Peggy Joann Smith Chilton. She was a loving and spunky soul, full of love and laughter. She made an impression on everyone she met. Denise loved to spend time with family and friends and enjoyed long days at Cherry Grove Beach. She graduated from Surry Community College and attended Western Carolina University. She was retired from the Phillip Morris Tobacco Company where she worked in Quality Assurance. She was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church and later attended The Rufuge in Kannapolis, NC. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Cundiff Solomon and Jay Solomon of Hendersonville, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Ryan Cundiff and Grace Ann Cundiff of Kannapolis, NC; father, Robert Herman Chilton, Jr. of Mt. Airy, NC; and the father of her children and wife, Kent Cundiff and Dawn Cundiff of Rockwell, NC. She is also survived by her faithful furry companion, Walker. Ms. Cundiff was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Joann Smith Chilton; a sister, DeLana Chilton; and grandparents, Robert H. Chilton, Sr. and Clio Chilton, Robert “Koot” Smith and Ruth Glass Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Bannertown Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Mickey Cogdill and friends. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 1:00 until 2:00 PM Sunday at Bannertown Baptist Church.
