Ms. Helen Lynette Cornett

Ms. Helen Lynette Cornett, age 52 of Galax, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born on December 16, 1963 in Wythe County, and was preceded in death by her mother, Merle Ann Monahan Cline.

Ms. Cornett is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lauren and Josh Stegall of Stuart, Heather and Josh Talley of Elon, North Carolina; a daughter, Chelsea Cornett of Wytheville; five grandchildren, Lily Cornett, Isaiah King, Charlie Cowley, Brock Talley and Elijah Stegall; her father, Herman Spencer of Tennessee; a sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Tim Blair of Greensboro, North Carolina; a brother, Tim Spencer of Greer, South Carolina; a niece, Faith Burcham and a nephew, Justin Whalen; boyfriend, Donnie Funk of Galax; and special friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Wyrick Springs in Crockett, Virginia with her sister, Rachel Blair conducting the service. Burial will be private.
