Ms. Laylor York Wilmoth, age 81, of Elkin, NC passed away on Monday February 4, 2013 at the Wake Medical Center, in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on January 22, 1932 to the late Willie Frank York and the late Margaret Empress Stanley York. She was a member of Union Cross Baptist church and retired from Renfro as a Office Clerk. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Teddy Fore of Elkin; two granddaughters Carrie Fore and Candie Fore both of Elkin; three sisters and a brother-in-law Lois Snow of Dobson, Louie Shumate of Elkin, Mary and Tommy Cave of Dobson; two brothers and sisters-in-law Ronald and Norma York, Donald and Shirley York all of Elkin; several nieces and nephews; two special friends Georgie Barnes of Elkin, and Margaret Lewis of Stella, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Willie Gail York and James Clark "JC" York; one half sister Forrest Lewis. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday February 7, 2013 at Union Cross Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Her body will lie in state 30 Min. before the services. Rev. Darrell Hall and Rev. Tim Burton will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Wednesday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Dobson Rescue Squad PO Box 1117 Dobson, NC 27017.
