Ms. Lucille Martin Miller

Ms. Lucille Martin Miller, age 87 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011, peacefully at her home. Mrs. Miller was born in Surry County, May 26, 1924 to Troy and Eliza Money Martin. She was retired from Belk and also worked with the American Red Cross. Ms. Miller was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Surviving is a daughter, Wanda Hiatt and fiancé Steve Turney of Ararat, VA; a son, Stan Miller of Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Dean Pyles and wife Heather, Kevin Pyles and wife Derina, Emily Miller and Sarah Miller; six great grandchildren; and a beloved sister, Jean Sager of Alvarado, TX. In addition to her parents, Ms. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Miller and brothers, George Martin, Leroy Martin, Raymond Martin and Marvin Martin. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Salem United Methodist Church by Rev. Bud Cameron, and. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or preferably, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or the Building Fund at 2591 Wards Gap Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
