Ms. Lucy Lea Cruise

Ms. Lucy Lea Cruise, age 86, of Vesta, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017. She was born in Patrick County to the late Andrew Bennett West and Emma Hall West. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred W. Martin, Marie W. Combs; and three brothers, Jesse R. West, John “Bud” West, and Glidewell “Goob” West. Ms. Cruise worked for the Vesta Post Office and was a cafeteria worker at Meadows of Dan Elementary School. She was a member of Meadows of Dan Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Cruise of Vesta, Cathy Boyd of Meadows of Dan, Ann and Norman Wood of Meadows of Dan; a special nephew, Garland West and wife, Stacy of Vesta; a sister-in-law, Martha B. West of Collinsville; a nephew and several nieces; and her special caregivers, Carolyn Belcher, Shirley Sutphin, and Bonnie and Jimmy Goad.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors John Franklin and Shawn Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
