Ms. Margaret Sue Houchins Prunty

Ms. Margaret Sue Houchins Prunty, age 75 of Spencer, Virginia passed away on January 1, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was born in Patrick County on March 17, 1940 to the late, George Houchins, Jr. and Lucy Parker Houchins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Carter; three sisters, Christine Reynolds, Vivian Graves, and Annie Lee Howell; and two brothers, Willie Earl Parker and George Houchins, III. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Stuart, Virginia.

Ms. Prunty is survived by her longtime companion, Otis Reynolds of the home; three daughters and a son-in-law, Josanna Maria Joyce Bryson of Ridgeway, VA, Karen Leigh Dillard of Greensboro, NC, and Lori Rudd and husband, Charles of Mcleansville, NC; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandson; a sister, Mary Lee Tatum of Critz, VA; four aunts, Mary Eleanor Knight of Tarboro, NC, Nicey Lyon of Tarboro, NC, Louise Dulin of Winston Salem, NC and Patricia Houchins of New Jersey; and a hosts of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ms. Prunty will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Deacon Kevin Reynolds officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will hold the wake one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
