Ms. Margaret Williams Yates

Ms. Margaret Williams Yates, age 88, of Mount Airy, joined the more immediate presence of the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Ms. Yates was born in Surry County on September 26, 1928 to James Roma and Martha Flippin Williams. Ms. Yates retried from Cross Creek Apparel but worked until the age of 83 as the manager of Mayberry Apartments. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends at Grace Moravian Church where she was a member. Those who will always cherish her memory are her dear children, Gloria Holt and husband, Clyde; Carl Yates, and Anita Jo Yates; grandchildren, Kevin Yates and wife Michelle, Angela Holland and husband Jacob; Ponch Yates; six great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; sisters, Allene Gilley, and Virginia Sexton. In addition to her parents, Ms. Yates was preceded in death by sisters, Elsie Mae Easter, Lois Hodge, and Ruth Ann Arrington. Funeral services will be held at Grace Moravian Church at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 by Rev. Dr. Neil Routh. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
