Ms. Martha Sue Haynes

Ms. Martha "Mema" Sue Haynes, age 63 of Mt. Airy, was surrounded by her family when she went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2013. Ms. Haynes was born in Surry County on August 22, 1949 to Rawley Haynes and Kathryn Dowell. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend to so many. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Tom Umstead, Lori and Richard Boles and Mary Kathryn Collins; eight grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Raycraft and Barbara Leftwich and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Rev. Rawley "Dink" Haynes and wife Debbie and Sharon Haynes and too many special nieces and nephews to list. In addition to her parents, Ms. Haynes was preceded in death by brothers, Steve Haynes and Jerry Leftwich. A Celebration of Her Life will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the church she so adored, Southside Baptist Church by Rev. Don Fellows and Rev. Dink Haynes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church at 2525 South Main St., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
