Ms. Mary Virginia McRoberts Gwyn

Ms. Mary Virginia McRoberts Gwyn, age 85 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Golden Living. Ms. Gwyn was born in Surry County on April 12, 1929 to Joseph Daniel and Dorothy Copeland McRoberts. Her faith in God was great; as also was her love for her children. She enjoyed being with people and even completed a nursing assistance program in her 50's. Her favorite hobby was playing bingo and she also loved listening to the radio that Lorena gave her. Surviving are daughters, Joan Gwyn Cothran of Gastonia and Faye Gwyn Crowe and husband Don of Davidson; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Virgie Eversole and husband David of Max Meadows, VA and Lorena Willard of Mt. Airy and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Gwyn was preceded in death by a son, John Gwyn and a sister, Pauline Collins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM Sunday.
