Ms. Mary Pauline Young Payne

Ms. Mary Pauline Young Payne, 91, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born on March 22, 1926 to the late Theodore R. and Pencie Anna Williams Young. Ms. Payne retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a member of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Dennis “Dink” Harold; a son, Terry Alan Payne; grandchildren and spouse, Terri Lynn and Brad Kirkman, and Dennis Harold, Jr.; great grandchildren, Evan Harold, Morgan Harold, Jessica Taylor, and Luke Kirkman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Haywood and Alyene Young, Revel and Bonnie Young, and Bernie and Bonnie Young; and a special friend and caregiver, Denise Bledsoe. In addition to her parents, Ms. Payne was preceded in death by a son, Gary Franklin Payne; a sister, Elizabeth Y. Goins; and a brother, Wiley Leonard “Dick” Young. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, January 8, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Goins and Dr. David Sparks officiating. A private burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
