Ms. Phyllis Ann Stanley

Ms. Phyllis Ann Stanley, 58, of East Bend passed away peacefully on Friday June 14, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on April 22, 1955 to the late Dosie and Vergie Hutchens Stanley. She was formerly employed by Philips-Van Husen and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her devoted children, Tommy William Atkins, Tonya Renee Atkins, and Tracy Shane Atkins; six grandchildren; nine sisters, Patricia Atkins, Glenda and husband Barney Hubbard, Laura Beck, LaRue and husband Ray Bowling, Rita and husband Warren Atkins, Mary and husband Jessi Torres, Martha and husband Johnny Lawson, Mary Taylor and Jean Adkins. In addition to her parents, Ms. Stanley was preceded in death by the father of her children, Robert Atkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Warren Atkins with burial to follow in Bear Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 pm. Special thanks to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care.
