Ms. Shelby Shew Bartlett Evans

Ms. Shelby Shew Bartlett Evans, age 78, of Galax, VA passed away on Monday July 23, 2018 in Galax, VA.  She was born in Surry County, NC on September 8, 1939 to the late Loyd Sylvester Shew and the late Geneva Freeman Shew Johnson.  She was a LPN and was retired from ITW Deltar, was a member of Central View Missionary Baptist Church.  Surviving are her two Daughters Cynthia Kay Hawks of Galax and Selinia May Tilley of Fancy Gap, VA;  three grandchildren, April and Kevin Rodgers, Jennifer Hawks, Andria and Shane Cook;  five great-grandchildren; Montana Rodgers, Brooke Rodgers, Summer Rodgers, Ethan Cook, and Winston Cook; sisters and brother-in-law, Wilma and the late Cornelius Norman, Pat and Daryl Tilley; brother and sister-in-law Richard “Dicky” and Beverly Shew;  special niece Teresa Coe; special great-nephew Jackson Wilmoth; several other nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday July 26, 2018 at Central View Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Her body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home until carried to the church to lie in state 30 min. prior to her service.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, NC.
