Ms. Vickie Elaine Childress

Ms. Vickie Elaine Childress, age 60, of Elkin, NC, passed away at her home on Monday night April 1, 2013. She was born in Surry County on December 1, 1952 to the late Odell Spencer Childress and Thelma Pauline Mitchell Childress. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Rita Hernandez and Janice Childress; two brothers Wendell Childress and Larry Gray Childress. She was a Assistant Manager for Dollar Tree in Elkin, and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her significant other Kenneth Renegar of the Home; three daughters Tina Hincher Holsclaw, Pilot Mtn., Amanda Barker Sipes and Christopher Sipes, of Elkin, Bridget Michelle and Christopher Cannon of Reidsville; one son and daughter-in-law Clyde Matthew and Christina Barker of Roaring River; eleven grandchildren Ariana Rochelle Holsclaw, Harley Dakota Barker, Solomon- Daniel Spencer Holsclaw, Brittany Elaina Sheyann Speer, Erik Christopher Sipes, Charity Alanah Richardson, Austin Matthew Barker, Sarah Haley Alisea Barker ,Autumn Victoria Sipes, Amber Danielle Sipes, Hunter Jace Barker ; one great grandchild Camron Lucas Smeltzer; two sisters Amy Hernandez of Elkin, Sandra Childress of Mt. Airy; three brothers Garry Clay Childress of Yadkinville, Mickey Childress of Hamptonville, Randy Childress of State Road. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday April 4, 2013 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Old Roaring River Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the National Lung Cancer Society.
