Myrna Delores Martin Collins

Mrs. Myrna Delores Martin Collins, 65, of 677 McBride Road, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Collins was born December 20, 1950, in Surry County, one of two daughters born to the late Caleb Lee and Christine Hill Martin. Myrna retired as a seamer from Lynne Hosiery after many years of service. She was a faithful member of The Salvation Army and was a dedicated women’s ministry leader, The Home League Secretary, for 18 years. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Emmett Marvin Collins of the home; a daughter-in-law, LuAnn White Boyer of Mount Airy; two granddaughters, Cayla Boyer and Madison Boyer, both of Mount Airy; a brother-in-law, Charles Stafford of Mount Airy; and two nephews, Kevin Stafford and Bradley Stafford. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by a son, Brian Mitchell Boyer; and a sister, Sue Martin Stafford. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 2:00 PM at The Salvation Army, with Major Michael Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O.
