Myrtle Catherine Burge

Mrs. Myrtle Catherine Stanley Burge, age 95, of Elkin, passed away on January 3, 2019 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born October 22, 1923 to the late Ester and Verdie Edwards Stanley.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and James Marler; son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Mary Osborne; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; In addition to her parents Mrs. Burge was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Woodrow Burge; a grandson, Ricky Ashburn; three great grandchildren, James Larry Glenn, Casey Lee Glenn, and Luke Ashburn  as well as five brothers and two sisters.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt Airy with services conducted by Rev. Don Ball.  Burial will follow in Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
