Mrs. Myrtle Hall Inscore, "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Give her the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates." Myrtle Hall Inscore died March 28, 2009 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born September 14, 1918 to Jim and Elizabeth "Shuggie" Hall, of Claudville, VA., one of 12 children. She and her late husband of 59 years, William Russell Inscore, owned and operated Inscore's Grocery over 20 years in Ararat, VA. She was known for her gardening, both vegetable and flower and was looking forward to planting this year's crop. She made friends easily, both near and far and was known for her famous chicken n dumplings made for family, friends and church members. She was a faithful member of New Grace Baptist Church and the oldest active member. She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters and sons-in-law: Shelby Inscore Puckett (Raleigh Puckett), Connie Inscore and Carolyn Inscore Choate (Donald Goins, Jr.); seven grandchildren, Tony and Lynne Beck, Meredith Scales, Sharon Jones, Russ and Juliana Cox, Linda B. Smith, Nancy Beck and Dorian and Patty Jones, II; ten great grandchildren, Drake Beck, Tara beck, Patrick Scales, Mason Scales, Kendall Jones, Marquis Cox, Delany Cox, Jesse Smith, Bayleigh Jones and Shelly Pauley; one brother, William G. Hall and one half sister, Vergie Hawks; three special nephews: Jay, Michael and Dwight Noonkester and one special niece, Nancy Hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be sent to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home "Meditation Garden" in memory of Myrtle Inscore, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017. Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2009 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. At other times, family will be at her home in Ararat, VA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2:00 PM at New Grace Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Craig Edwards with burial to follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
