Myrtle Mae Moncus

Mrs. Myrtle Mae Snow Moncus, age 88, of Lambsburg, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mrs. Moncus was born in Carroll County, Virginia on November 19, 1929, to Frank Monchello Snow and Cecil Spencer Snow.  She was an extraordinary woman with many talents, an inspiration to all who met her.  Mrs. Moncus had so much love to share; she fostered seventy five children over 35 years.  Those she inspired the most are her daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and Boyd Billingsley; Robin Hicks; Gina and Coby Gough, and a adopted son Michael Moncus; grandchildren, Jessica Carter and husband, Rhys, Jarrod Gough and fiancée Adrienne Horton, and Spencer Gough and wife Kaitlan; her precious great grandsons, Calvin Carter, and Eli Gough; caregiver, Ray Beeson; a sister, Trusty Lineberry and brothers and a sister-in-law, Jimmy Snow and Paul and Anita Snow.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moncus was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Ellis Moncus, and sisters, Annie Davis, Mary Belton, Mattie Belton, and Hazel Smith. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday June 13, 2018 at Lambsburg Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Israel Easter.  Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Lambsburg Missionary Baptist Church 258 Chestnut Grove Rd., Lambsburg, VA 24351.
