Mrs. Myrtle Opal Hayes Moser Riddle, 73, wife of Mr. Lacy Ray Riddle, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Tuesday May 1, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County after an extended illness. She was born in Surry County on September 12, 1933 to the late Claude Monroe and Evie Watson Hayes. Mrs. Riddle was retired from Dunmore Plantation where she served as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. Survivors include her husband Lacy Ray Riddle of the home; a daughter Katherine Reynolds of Mt. Airy; a son, Donnie Moser of Dobson; two sisters, Irene Haynes of Mt. Airy and Annie Shores of State Road; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Hayes of Thurmond and James Hayes of Elkin; two sisters-in-law, Gaynell Moser of Dobson and Sara Marion of Pinnacle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Riddle was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Reynolds; three sons, Alvin, Carlyle and Curtis Moser and a sister Katie Johnson and a special friend Fred Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday May 2, 2007 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Hurst and Rev. Richard Weagraff officiating and burial to follow in the Dobson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM on Wednesday until time for the service.
