Myrtle Mae White Sexton

Ms. Myrtle Mae White Sexton, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Golden Living Center. Ms. Sexton was born April 14, 1920, in Surry County, to Benton and Mamie Creed White. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all her loving family. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Junior Goins and Ginger and Joe Quesinberry, all of Mount Airy; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Johnny and Ola White of Dobson, and Benny White, Nell White, Erdine White, and Virginia White, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Sexton was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Venable Quesinberry; and three brothers, Gurney White, Harvey White, and Howard White. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Little Mountain Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Billy Watson and Dr. Craig Edwards, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Golden Living Center for the wonderful care given to Ms. Sexton during her stay there.
