Mrs. Nan Nichols Davis, 92, of 837 Old Highway 601, Mount Airy, widow of E. Lester Davis, passed away Friday morning October 19, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Davis was born June 13, 1915, in Surry County, to the late George Stanley and Jessie Davis Nichols. She was the owner of Bright-Leaf Drive-in and a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Billie Mae Davis of White Plains; a sister, Daisy Nichols Simmons of Mount Airy; a special niece and spouse, LuAnn and Mike Loy and their daughter, Maddie Loy, all of White Plains; nieces and spouses, Georgianna and Dick Nichols and their daughter, Heather Stickler, all of Houston, TX, and Nanette and Richard Shook and their daughter, Irina Shook, all of St. Petersburg, FL; and a nephew and spouse, Stan and Pam Simmons and their children, Sierra and Yancey Simmons, all of Mount Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Don L. Davis; and a sister, Georgia Nichols Eddins. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 21, 2007, at 2:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Johnson and the Rev. J. Loyd Pugh, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
