Nancy Alice Vernon Frye

Mrs. Nancy Alice Vernon Frye Age 70 of 3009 Pipers Gap Road, Mount Airy, widow of Rufus "Red" Gray Frye, Sr. passed away Sunday February 4, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mrs. Frye was born December 4, 1936 in Carroll County to the late Wiley Garland Vernon and Mary Edith McCraw Vernon. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and owner of Pipers Gap Trophy Shop for over 30 years. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Ray and Julie Ann Frye and Rufus Gray Frye, Jr. and Ann all of Mount Airy; one grandchild, Austin Brett of Mount Airy; a sister, Mary Esther Vernon of Mount Airy; one niece, Maryanne Vernon Hall of Cana and three nephews, Jimmy Ray Vernon of Cana, Robert David Vernon of Cana and Timothy Vernon of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by an infant brother, Wiley Guy Vernon and a brother, Otis A. Vernon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Billy Moore with burial to follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Tuesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
