Nancy Lou Hayes

Mrs. Nancy Lou Hayes, age 93, of Mount Airy, passed away in the early morning hours, Friday, December 1,  2023, at Surry Community Health and Rehab with her loving family by her side.  Nancy was born August 25, 1930, to the late Carl and Eva Jones.  Mrs. Hayes was a well-known spiritual woman with a strong faith in the Lord, she was an avid beautician for over 60 years.  She will be deeply missed by all that was able to know her.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Hayes Ramey and Larry; son and daughter-in-law, George Hayes III and Nancy; her grandchildren which she adored, Amanda Wright, Zachary Ramey, Shannon Slate, Nathaniel Hayes; great-grandchildren, Luke Ramey, Adam Slate, Anna Ramey, Aliyah Sizemore, Adison Sizemore, Falisaty Simpson; one living sister, Mary Jo Jones White.  In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband George Wayne Hayes, by her two daughters, Karen Hayes Bowlin, Susie Hayes Wright; grandchildren, Gerald Bowlin, Alan Wright; one sister, Lorena Cruise; and brother, Carl Jones, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Paul Cruise and Kenneth White.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy at 2 PM, with the Rev. Travis Sechrist officiating.  Interment will follow in Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Blues Grove Baptist Church WMU Missions; 3607 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.  The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Surry Community for the love and care given to Mrs. Hayes, during her sickness.  Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Hayes Family.
