Mrs. Nancy Donreath “Donnie” Deatherage Jessup, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, July 18, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Jessup was born November 30, 1933, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Joe Sam and Lula Ethel Butcher Deatherage. Donnie was a loving and devoted homemaker and a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Vickie and the Rev. Kenney Sutton and Robin Jessup Cooke and her special friend, Mike Lewis; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brad and Joyce Jessup, Marty Jessup, and Grady and Bonnie Jessup; her grandchildren, Kendra and Chris Price, Hanna and Sammy Power, Jeremy Cooke and his fiancée, Katie Guynn, Heather Jessup, and Leslie and Eric Easter; her great-grandchildren, Madison and Hunter Mason, Jacob Smith, Kailey King, Karson Price, Kaden King, Weston Power, Addie Easter, Ava Easter, Holden Power, and Crewe Cooke; her great-great-grandchildren, Javen Mason and Sutton Mason; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Clifton “Cliff” Jessup; and eleven half-sisters and half-brothers. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenney Sutton officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
