Mrs. Nancy Helen Edwards Lovill, 88, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry County on February 23, 1933, to the late Ernest and Mary Norman Edwards. Mrs. Lovill was retired from Northern Hospital, and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved gardening, animals and playing with her cat, Susie. Mrs. Lovill was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and neighborhood friends. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and Phil Pritchard and Julie and Allan Richardson; grandchildren, Clay Ashby, and Will and Terri Ashby; great-grandchildren, Clay Ashby, and Sally Ashby; a brother, Jimmy Edwards; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lovill was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Lovill; a sister, Johnnie Capell. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Griff Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. Flowers will be accepted. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Central Continuing Care for the love and care given to their mother.
