Mrs. Nancy Berlin "Jerri" Dixon Thomas, 59, of 199 Thomas Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Thomas was born May 3, 1951, in Surry County, daughter of the late Earl and Stella Liza Goins Dixon. She worked as a seamer at Spencer's Inc. and Renfro Corporation for many years. She is survived by her husband, Roy Edward Thomas of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Tickle and Wade Tennyson of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Chris Tickle of Mount Airy; a stepdaughter, Jessica Thomas and her fiancé, Arion Almond, of Mount Airy; a stepson, Ronnie Thomas of Pilot Mountain; three grandchildren, Tripp Tennyson, Kaitlyn Tickle, and Hayley Tickle, all of Mount Airy; a stepgrandchild, Lawson Almond of Mount Airy; a sister, Betty Jean Poole and her special friend, Barry Blevins, of Mount Airy; a special niece, Tammy Blackmon of Ohio; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Dixon Bowman; and two brothers, Kyle Dixon and John Earl Dixon. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Noel Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoney Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
