Nancy Faye King Venable

Ms. Nancy Faye King Venable, 66, of 1297 Galax Trail, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Twelve Oaks Retirement Center. Ms. Venable was born March 18, 1943, in Surry County, to Claude Allen King and the late Grace Olivia Wilmoth King. Nancy did clerical work for several trucking companies in the Winston-Salem area for several years and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her father, Claude Allen King of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ken Nowlin of Mount Airy; a niece, Tonya Ratcliff of Mount Airy; two nephews and their wives, Kenny and Amy Nowlin of Mount Airy and Joel and Anne Nowlin of Winston-Salem; and several great nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 10, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Pastor David Burgess and the Rev. Todd E. Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 PM until time for the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to Calvary Baptist Church, 314 South Franklin Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff of Twelve Oaks Rest Home and Alzheimer's Unit and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the love and wonderful care given to Nancy during her illness.
