Mrs. Nannie Elizabeth Jarrell Hull, 86, of 453 Race Track Road, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Hull was born February 9, 1921, in Surry County, to the late H.G. and Laura Columbia Oakley Jarrell. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Hull of the home; a daughter, Gail Hull Hiatt of Mount Airy; a son, Brad Hull and special friend, Angie Brady, of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren and spouses, Brandon Hull, Mandi and Luke Danley, Lauryn Hull, Charles and Lynn Hull, Todd and Melanie Hull, Charlotte and Bill Gray, and Kim Hull; nine great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Viola Hull Thore of Lexington, KY, and Evelyn Hull Jones of Mount Airy; a brother-in-law and spouse, Howard and Betty Jean Hull of Mount Airy; special friends, Thelma Allen, Robin Sheets, Kara Hall, and Annie Seal; her caregivers, Helen Bryant, Linda Bowman, Linda Surratt, and Gina McKinney; and a special group of friends known as the "Hoof and Mouth Club," Scott and Helen Banner, Virginia Crowell, Jack Leach, Jesse Harrell, Blanche Gwyn, and Louise Breeden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hull was preceded in death by a stepson, C.W. Hull, Jr.; and a sister, Ruby Louise Jarrell O'Dell. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 8, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Todd E. Byrd and the Rev. Junior Dawson. Burial will follow in the Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Step Down Unit staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County, the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, and the staff of the Forsyth Hematology and Oncology department for all their love, care, and kindness shown to Nannie during her illness. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to the American Red Cross, Surry County Chapter, 844 Westlake Drive, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
