Ruth Morton Donithan

Mrs. Nannie Ruth Morton Donithan, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away on Monday morning, September 5, 2022, at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkin, NC.  Mrs. Donithan was born in Surry County on July 9, 1938, to the late William Eugene Morton and Mary Lillian Bobbitt Morton.  She was retired from Renfro Corporation and was of the Baptist faith.  Mrs. Donithan is survived by her grandson, Cody Donathan; sister, Bernell Shelton; sister-in-law, Ann Morton; special niece, Anna Morton; several other nieces and nephews; and her two special dogs, Puppy and Onyx.  In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Donithan; a son, David Donithan; sister, Barbara “Tootie” Morton; and two brothers, Jack Morton and Ray Morton.  Graveside services for Mrs. Donithan will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 2:00PM at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 12:30PM until time to leave for the graveside service.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Donithan family.
