Mrs. Nannie Lee York Wyche, 91, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Wyche was born July 2, 1919, in Iredell County, to the late Leroy Hill and Mary Grant York. She was a homemaker and attended True Vine Baptist Church. Mrs. Wyche is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jim Gambill of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Hunter Wyche, Jr. and Susan Wyche of Raleigh; nine grandchildren, Shannon King and her husband, Larry King, Jr. of Tampa, FL, Britt Williams of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Cameron Jones and husband, Jack Jones, of Alexandria, VA, Hunt Wyche of Raleigh, Lucy Wyche of Raleigh, Heather Smith of Clayton, Amber Austin of Clayton, Jule Smith and his wife, Alisa Smith, of Raleigh, and Duval Smith of Sylvia; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wyche was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Hunter Wyche; and a daughter, Patti Wyche Smith. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 12:00 at True Vine Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rawley "Dink" Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service at True Vine Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to True Vine Baptist Church, 2231 North Andy Griffith Parkway, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
