Mr. Nash Thompson "Jack" Nunn, 72, of 797 Sheep Farm Road, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, October 2, 2006, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Nunn was born October 21, 1933, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Jesse Edward and Mary Ada Smith Nunn. Mr. Nunn was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa F. and Mitchell Brannock of Mount Airy; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Nash G. Nunn of Mount Airy, Michael A. and Glenda Nunn of Pilot Mountain, Chuck R. and Renee Nunn of Burley, ID, and Mark A. and Jennifer Nunn of Concord; thirteen grandchildren; a great grandchild; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Katherine Shively of Mount Airy, Clara Martin of Wilmington, and Joyce and Bobby Anderson of Cherry Grove, SC; and a brother and sister-in-law Stewart and Sherry Nunn of Wilmington. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nunn was preceded in death by three sisters, Nannie "Sue" Moore, Mary Vella "Peg" Crawley, and Maybelle George; and three brothers, Lester Nunn, Billy Lee "Bill" Nunn, and John "Jay" Nunn. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 6, 2006, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Bishop J.C. Haymore, and entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mount Airy Lions Club, P.O. Box 503, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
